about
Beatrice has her eyes fixed on Heaven. Dante has his eyes fixed on Beatrice, and in this contemplation he feels transfigured and rises with her to Heaven. Dante guided towards the impulses of divine Love?
Final redemption.
Virgil led Dante through Hell and Purgatory because through this journey his soul could rise from the evil into which it had fallen. And then Beatrice took Virgil’s place to guide Dante to heaven.
Virgil, in the allegorical narrative, represents Reason, but reason is not enough to reach God; Faith is necessary and Beatrice represents this virtue.
Ascension through the heavens of Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the heavens of the fixed stars, the First Mobile and the Empyrean. Beatrice’s beauty becomes ineffable. Dante sees a river of light flowing between two banks enamelled with flowers. Sparks emerge from the river and mingle with the brightness of the flowers, then fall back into the luminous waters.
Dante dips his eyelid in the water and his vision becomes clearer. He is given the strength to rise to the vision of God, and his gaze penetrates the eternal divine light. The poet's heart obeys only the impulses of love… Divine? Lustful Beatrice?

As usual, Kirby manipulates various interwar records to fit a cavalcade of emotional states: blissful (B1, E8), tragic (D2, D5), frantic (E1, E6), and just plain horrifying (F3, G1, H1, K1). gjoe52

The track's sonic palette and its vibrant forcefulness are absolutely remarkable, and very much in the vein of the best modular synth work of the 1960s masters. Carl Howard

This album has been on my headphones repeatedly in the last weeks. I can’t get enough of the beautiful and relentless majesty of “Le grand miroir“.
Bauchet expertly balances harmony and noise on this album. Johannes Korn
